Singapore showed the world that it has the gift of the gab in 2016, with a pair of Singaporeans making the country proud on the world stage.

In September, lawyer Darren Tay, 27 became the first Singaporean to win the World Championship of Public Speaking. He beat nine other orators to take top spot at the competition held in Washington DC.

Just two months later in October, student Kenneth Sng delivered the opening remarks at the second presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Sng is the president of the Student Union at Washington University in St Louis, which hosted the event.

Which speaker made you more proud? Tell us in the poll below, and explain why that was your pick.
