Woman cabby groped in taxi drives molester to police station

A taxi driver locked the doors and drove her molester and his friend straight to the nearest police post.

On Tuesday, 20-year-old Malaysian storekeeper Vikneswaran Veera Muthu was jailed for four months after he pleaded guilty to grabbing the woman's breast while in her taxi.

Vikneswaran and his friend Mohd Arif Mohd Nor, 27, had boarded the 45-year-old victim's cab near Bedok on May 31 and sat at the back.

They asked to go to the MacPherson area.

While travelling along the Pan-Island Expressway, the driver noticed Vikneswaran moving his body towards her seat.

All of a sudden, he leaned forward, pushed his right hand through the space on the right of her seat and grabbed her breast.

She shouted at him and he released his grip, Assistant Public Prosecutor Lim Yu Hui told the court on Tuesday.

The victim again saw that Vikneswaran was leaning forward with both his hands near her chest.

She told his friend, who immediately pulled back Vikneswaran, who apologised.

The woman then locked the taxi doors and drove to Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre to lodge a report.

Vikneswaran was subsequently placed under arrest.

He could have been jailed for up to two years, fined and caned.
