Woodlands internet outage restored: NetLink Trust

SINGAPORE - A network outage in Woodlands was resolved at 2.15am on Saturday morning.

According to a statement from NetLink Trust, the outage was "due to damage to the fibre infrastructure caused by a contractor performing works for the Land Transport Authority (LTA) along Woodlands Avenue 2."

It said that it worked closely with relevant parties to ensure that the service was restored at the affected areas.

It is not known how long the outage lasted, but NetLink Trust CEO Ng Yong Hwee said: "We put in all available resources to ensure a speedy and safe recovery and are glad that we managed to restore service ahead of our original estimate. We thank the affected users for their understanding and patience in this matter.

"We are continuing to work closely with LTA and its contractors to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent damage to underground cables. We also urge other contractors to consult NetLink Trust on the necessary precautions before carrying out earthworks."
