Youth arrested over slashing incident at Lot 1 shopping mall

SINGAPORE - A youth has apparently been arrested over a slashing case at Lot 1 shopping mall on Monday night (Oct 1).

Photos of the incident have been making their rounds on social media.

Several Stomp contributers alerted STOMP to the incident.

Stomp contributor Aaron was sending off his friends when he saw police cordoning off the area.  He said the incident happened on Tuesday at about 9pm.

He said:

"The big open area was cordoned off when I arrived at CCK to send my friends off.

"There were more then seven police officers at the scene and the blood trail was still there.

"It is scary when there are slashing incident happening around the neighbourhood mall with so many adults, children and youths.

"Can we still feel safe shopping in neighbourhood malls?

"The last slashing incident was at the far East and now even the West?

"This is not the first time a slashing incident happened here."

Stomp contributor Missy said in her email to STOMP at about 10.30pm on Tuesday:

"A youth was arrested. A victim was taken to hospital due to some bleeding.

"A girl who is believed to be with the attacker, was questioned by police officer.

"The cause of the incident is still unknown. Everything happened to fast."

Stomp contributor Frederick sent in a photo of the incident on facebook with this message:

"Lot 1 Choa Chu Kang fighting."
