Youth nabbed for breaking into arcade

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 13-year-old male for breaking into an arcade at Marine Parade Road.

The police said in a statement to the media that a game arcade at Marine Parade was broken into on April 22.

A Dell laptop valued at $1,500, two sets of keyboards, seven "Boose" handphone speakers valued at $40 each and three HFI hand phone speakers valued at $30 each were allegedly stolen from the arcade. Tampering marks were found on the emergency exit door leading to the arcade.

With the help of CCTV footages around the premises, the suspect was identified by Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police.

On Thursday, the suspect was interviewed and subsequently arrested for breaking into the arcade.

Investigations against the suspect are still on-going. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 14 years.
