STTA gets $500k lift

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) scored a sponsorship deal and donations worth $500,000 in total.

Singapore-based property investment firm Grace Shine, run by Indonesian tycoon Tahir, who goes by a single name, pledged $300,000 over three years.

The founder and executive chairman of Indonesia-based conglomerate Mayapada Group first partnered the STTA last year.

He also roped in two friends - Radius Wibowo, vice-chairman of Kadin Indonesia, and Cahyadi Kumala, founder of Art Retreat, to donate $100,000 each.

The money will go towards the STTA's sports excellence plans.
