Teen in Malaysia collapses and dies after football training

KUALA LUMPUR - A 17-year-old student died from bleeding in the brain after he collapsed following a football training session in his school in Banting.

Police said the teenager was complaining to his teacher of a headache during the training and asked to be replaced.

His teacher said the boy collapsed as he was walking to the side of the field.

"His teachers rushed him to a clinic in Teluk Datuk. The teen lost consciousness on the way there and was pronounced dead by the clinic doctor at about noon on Friday," said Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Azman Abdul Razak.

His body was taken to the Banting Hospital, where doctors confirmed the teen had suffered from intercranial bleeding. The incident was classified as sudden death.
