SINGAPORE - Tenkaichi is offering diners a price guarantee for its yakiniku BBQ.

In a Facebook post on Tues, they wrote: "We've got you covered. Introducing to you Tenkaichi's Price Challenge. To live up to our promise of offering you the best price in town, we will beat any place that offers a similar BBQ at a better price by 10 per cent."

Founded in 2012, Tenkaichi is the brainchild of Mr Naing Ye Guang.

Driven by his passion for Japanese cuisine, Mr Naing ventured to Japan at a young age of 22 to pursue this deep-founded passion. From having absolutely no experience, he started off as a dishwater in restaurants before advancing to being a chef’s trainee in Ginza’s high-end Yakiniku restaurant, Jojoen, before eventually managing a storefront on his own.

With his accumulated years of experience, he came back to Singapore to settle down with the desire to bring the best of Japan’s Yakiniku to the Singapore market. Together with the executive chef, a good buddy he made in his years of apprenticeship in Japan, they led the kitchen in Yakiniku Daidomon for about a decade before Mr Naing took a leap of faith to start on something to call his own - Tenkaichi.

Today, Tenkaichi specialize in Wagyu Beef Yakiniku, with the aim of providing value to customers with its BBQ Buffet with quality ingredients. The flavours have also been tweaked to cater to Singaporeans’ unique taste palates.

The restaurant offers two options for the buffet - Deluxe ($39.80 on weekdays, $44.80 on weekends) and Premium ($64.80 on weekdays, $69.80 on weekends). The high-grade wagyu beef is only available in the Premium buffet.
