'.tokyo' domain now available

JAPAN - The registration for ".tokyo" domain names started Monday.

Those who passed the screening will be able to use a new domain name, or Internet address, with ".tokyo" from June.

The new ".tokyo" domain is expected to draw attention as Tokyo is gearing up for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Currently, there are 255 domains using the name of countries and regions, including ".jp," as well as 22 other domains, including ".com" and ".net."
