The ranking recognises the best firms in Singapore which have a great workplace culture. It was derived from the results of two separate surveys of over 11,000 employees.

Three organisations were also given the Watch Out World Awards for having a progressive workplace culture. They are Dymon Asia Capital, Hitachi Data Systems and National Instruments Singapore.

Great Place to Work found that the differentiating factor for the 10 best companies is how leaders humanise their workplaces.

"Other than being competent in leading the organisation, leaders from the best companies treat employees as individuals, not as economic commodities," the Institute said.

It added that the best companies spent as much as 131 hours - or over half a month - per year on developing and training each of their employees.

This year's study also affirmed that companies which have a strong people-focus tend to perform better, with the 10 best companies successfully growing their revenue by as much as 21 per cent, despite the challenging economic environment.

Ms Evelyn Kwek, managing director of the Great Place to Work Institute Singapore, said: "As Singapore continues to embrace the rise of digital and disruptive technologies, it is important to keep a focus on our people, to derive the best out of the driving force of the nation."
