1,000 tourism packages to Malaysia launched

KUALA LUMPUR - Tourists can, starting from now all the way to the end of the year, choose from more than 1,000 new holiday packages in Malaysia that caters to every budget.

Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general Datuk Azizan Noordin said these tour packages offer unique holiday getaways to experience the country's most exciting travel destinations.

"We are promoting these holiday packages not only to foreign tourists but also to locals travelling within the country and are looking for a well-planned holiday," he said after launching the first edition of Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia (CC1M) 1001 Packages brochure in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014 yesterday.

Azizan said the brochure contained 1,030 holiday packages to choose from. The packages range in price from as low as RM19.90 (S$7,60) to RM40,000 for a luxury tour. The packages were developed with the cooperation of 297 tour operators from all over the country.

He said the packages were categorised according to state and segments to make it easier for tourists to identify their holiday destinations based on their interests.

"The brochure can also be used as a medium to promote our tourism destinations and products, and to encourage Malaysians and foreign tourists to plan their holidays ahead," he said, adding Tourism Malaysia aimed to woo 250,000 tourists with the packages.

The brochures can be obtained at Tourism Malaysia state offices and Tourist Information Centres around the country, in tourism fairs involving Tourism Malaysia and from its official website at www.tourismmalaysia.gov.my.
