Air New Zealand's new safety video takes us on a ride through Northland

The folks at Air New Zealand have done it again.

This Christmas season, while the northern hemisphere is ringing in sleigh bells with the snow, New Zealand has issued a polite reminder that summer is going strong down south.

Of course the best way to do it is through the country's national carrier, Air New Zealand.

Summer of Safety is their latest safety video, set in breathtaking subtropical Northland, the northern point of New Zealand.

While their previous safety videos were either set in Hobbiton (the spot where Lord of the Rings was filmed), or featured the athletes from the All Blacks rugby team, this is the first time the airline has trained its focus on showcasing the sweeping landscape of the Northland region.

New Zealand sits in the Southern Hemisphere and is perfect for anyone dreaming of a warm getaway during this rainy season.

From dolphin-watching at Bay of Islands, to spending a reflective moment in Waipoua Forest, the video puts the region's attractions in forefront - with the help of a large star-studded cast.

If you missed them the first time you watched the video, stop reading, go back and watch it again.

International big names like supermodel Rachel Hunter, Game of Thrones actor Joe Naufahu and Olympic bronze-medallist Eliza McCartney took a break from the global stage and flew home to lend a hand on set.

The video follows actor Jayden Daniels as he goes on a roadtrip of Bay of Islands and Hokianga, wolfing down ice-cream while demonstrating airline safety rules.

Stuntwoman Zoe Bell and IndyCar legend Scott Dixon also make an appearance alongside more than a hundred locals throughout the video.

When the video ends off with a spectacular sweeping shot of singer-songwriter LadyHawke's sunset gig outside the Opononi Hotel, we can probably all agree that nobody really paid attention to the safety tips.

Because long sandy beaches, turquoise waters and gorgeous cliffsides? Say no more.
