Imagine a whole city centre transformed into a giant ice skating rink.
For the whole of February till March 6, that's what will happen to the City Hall Square of Vienna, Austria becomes a paradise for skating fans of every age.
The facade of the iconic City Hall will be illuminated to form a fairytale setting for Vienna Ice World.
An amazing 8,000sqm of icescape has been created as a paradise for skating fans of every age. It will cater to both adults and children.
Every day from 9am to 10pm, ice skaters can be as creative, wild or elegant as they move to the rhythms of popular music hits, and of course Austria's famous waltz.
They can weave their way through the romantically lighted City Hall Park, where there is a lovely ice path that can thrill beginners and professionals alike with its countless routes.
There will be a free practice area for the very youngest ice skaters from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm. At 5pm, it becomes eight curling lanes (entrance fees apply), where the athletic can put their skills on show.
There will also be regional and organic delicacies at various outdoor booths and in the popular Almhütte with terrace. Warming drinks are also available at Vienna Ice World - from fragrant organic punch to tea.
Ever heard of skating boots pre-heated with warm air? Some 2,000 of these can be rented to get onto the ice. Lockers are also available for your other things so that you can skate without extra baggage.
