Skyscanner reveals the best time to book flights

SINGAPORE - Global travel search company Skyscanner has released its latest findings on the best time to book flights.

The company revealed that savvy Singaporeans should typically look at booking flights seven weeks before departure to get the cheapest fares in 2015.

The results also found that the best time to book varies a great deal from destination to destination.

For instance, flights to Indonesia should be booked 18 weeks in advance, while people wishing to travel to Taiwan should consider booking 20 weeks in advance for the cheapest fares.

As the best time to book a flight varies annually depending on airline and destination, Skyscanner has created an interactive tool for travellers to see when is the best time to book for the most popular destinations for Singapore.

However, Skyscanner also advises caution when booking flights last minute.

Ms Pamela Knaggs, Skyscanner's Singapore Marketing Manager, said prices can be volatile, so passengers need to weigh the risks if they leave booking too close to their departure date.
