These are the cheapest flights for year-end holidays, according to Skyscanner

Flight tickets are usually much more expensive during the last two months of the year but you can still snag good deals.

The latest Skyscanner data reveals that London is typically the cheapest long-haul destination for Singaporeans in November and December, with return flight prices dipping as low as $587.

But you don't have to wait till November if you're desperate for downtime to unwind.

The Deepavali holiday next Wednesday (Oct 18) is a great opportunity to turn a two-day leave into a bargain five-day holiday in Vietnam, Malaysia, or Indonesia.

Last-minute return flights for under $184 to Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur are still available, according to Skyscanner.

Separately, Skyscanner has also come up with holiday suggestions in November and December for people according to the number of leave days they have available.

Below are its recommendations.

EUROPEAN CAPITALS FOR THOSE WITH PLENTY OF LEAVE

After London, Athens, the capital of Greece, offers the second best bargain for a long-haul trip at this time of year, with return flight prices at under $589.

If you're yearning for a truly White Christmas, Iceland's capital Reykjavik, which is also home to the magical Northern Lights, is the cheapest option with return flights from $724.

GO DOWN UNDER IF YOU HAVE SEVERAL DAYS

Closer to home, Australia's Gold Coast (above) and Sydney are two of the cheapest destinations for travel in November and December. Return flight prices begin from only $342 and $340 respectively.

As the direct flights to both are under eight hours, they are ideal for Singaporeans with three or four days of leave left. And better still, if they are used together with a weekend.

TRY MYANMAR OR VIETNAM IF YOU HAVE 1 OR 2 LEAVE DAYS

Merge your one or two leave days with a weekend and you can still enjoy a short trip without coughing up too much.

Whether your preference is Yangon's mesmerising Shwedagon Pagoda or a scenic cruise in Vietnam's Ha Long Bay near Hanoi, you can arrive at these cities in under four hours. Return tickets to both cost $150 and above.

NO LEAVE LEFT? GO ON A WEEKEND SOJOURN

You can still escape to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, or Penang for food and shopping, all reachable in under two hours. You can grab a return flight to any of these places for as low as $80.
