The way of the dragon

A group of construction workers dropped their hard hats and coveralls, and donned tank tops and life vests, for dragonboat training in Kallang on Saturday.

Formed in March this year, the team from construction company HSL has been training regularly on weekends to prepare for the upcoming DBS Marina Regatta.

HSL chairman Lim Choo Leng, who attends the training sessions to support the team, said taking part in the sport helps cultivate teamwork and "provides a good form of activity for the workers" away from the worksites.

A total of 142 teams will be taking part in the regatta being held next weekend at Marina Bay.
