Wine and dine to the new year


What: For an intimate yet lavish affair, tuck into either a three- or five-course dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel's One-Ninety Wood- fired Steaks and Seafood restaurant. Dishes include Mediterranean sea bass and tiger prawn, and spiced Jivara chocolate sphere with blackcurrant sorbet. Vegetarian menus are available. A new addition is a countdown party where guests will be whisked off to the One-Ninety Bar for after-dinner drinks and music spun by a DJ before a balloon drop at midnight.

What: Treat yourself to a gastronomic feast on the last night of the year at lifestyle hub 50 Raffles Place, which houses steakhouse Sear, Angie's Oyster Bar and luxe club lounge Empire.

Indulge in Sear's semi-buffet with a choice of steak or Angie's catch of the day, a live oyster station, canapes and Sear's signature sides such as the homemade lemon rosti.

Guests can then head to Empire, where they can take in clear views of the city skyline and dance to groovy beats spun by DJ Stanley.

What: This white-themed (bianco is Italian for white) party is hosted by luxury lifestyle marketing agency Vanilla Luxury at Italian restaurant and bar Procacci Singapore at the historic Customs House building. The dress code is, of course, white.

Start the festivities with a gourmet buffet spread of live foie gras and lamb stations alongside a smorgasbord of fresh seafood on ice. Next, pop a bottle of G.H. Mumm champagne and enjoy the unobstructed view of fireworks to music spun by five DJs.

Joining in the merrymaking are dancers and stiltwalkers.

What: If you fancy a piping-hot plate of brunch grub in a mellow, communal setting after a night of hardcore revelry, make a trip to Artistry cafe, where brunch will be served from dusk to dawn for just this one night.

The cafe's signature brunch staples, including its BRB (blueberry, ricotta and bacon) Pancake ($16) and potato hash with scrambled eggs ($20), will be available. If you prefer a meaty and hearty treat, the Artistry chilli crab burger ($25) is available too.

Drink to the new year with one of Artistry's creative cocktails ($15 each) with a local twist, such as the pandan mojito or rum chendol.

What: A back alley off Gemmill Lane will be transformed into a venue for a hip street party on New Year's Eve, co-organised by chic Mediterranean restaurants Maggie Joan's and Moosehead Kitchen & Bar.

There will be free flow of champagne, wine and beer plus a mouth-watering spread of Mediterranean bites and a barbecue meat feast of lamb and pork cooked over an open flame.

Adding to the underground vibe will be a DJ dropping urban beats till the wee hours of the morning.
