Wolfgang Puck's Spago to open at Marina Bay Sands

SINGAPORE - Another celebrity chef restaurant is opening at Marina Bay Sands.

American chef-restaurateur Wolfgang Puck's Spago will open later this year on Level 57 of the Sands SkyPark, Tower 2. It takes over the space currently vacated by the hotel's lounge The Club, known for its cheese and chocolate bar. It moved to Level 55 earlier this year.

Spago, the Austria-born Puck's first restaurant, opened in 1982 at the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. It moved to Canon Drive in Beverly Hills in 1997, and is known for its Californian cuisine.

Other Spago branches include The Forum Shops at Caesars on the Las Vegas Strip, and Four Seasons Resort Maui.

This is the brand's first restaurant in Asia and Puck's second establishment in MBS. He is behind the popular steakhouse Cut.

Diners will get a sneak preview of Spago's offerings at the upcoming gourmet festival Epicurean Market at MBS.

It runs from Aug 14 to 16 and tickets ($28 for a three day pass) are on sale at Marina Bay Sands Box Offices and Sistic.

Epicurean Market will also showcase the cuisine of the other eight celebrity chef restaurants in MBS, including the highly-anticipated Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, which opens at the end of this month (June).
