Arissa Cheo remains mum about relationship status with Vanness Wu

After a public fallout with Taiwanese actor-singer Vanness Wu on social media last year, local socialite Arissa Cheo has since been tight-lipped about her marital status with her singer hubby.

When asked by the media recently if her husband is supportive of her endeavours, she replied without hesitation: "We always support each other."

Citing privacy concerns, her staff interjected when the media asked when was the last time she saw her husband, My Paper reported.

Cheo added drily: "All couples will quarrel."

She later declined to answer further questions about her relationship with Wu, 37.

The 34-year-old was recently in town to manage her fashion businesses Arissa X and AxJ BEAUTÉ which will debut at Singapore Fashion Week in October.

The couple tied the knot in November 2013 in California and at the St Regis Hotel in Singapore.

Cracks starting appearing barely one year into the marriage.

On July 3 last year, Cheo posted a cryptic post on her Instagram account with an accompanying picture that read: "I may not be completely happy with where I am in life right now, but I am grateful for everything I've been blessed with."

In her lengthy post, Cheo alluded to labels that were said of her by Wu's fans, such as 'cheater' and 'wild party girl'.

"I've sucked it up and kept silent, been there done that, while I ended up being vilified as the 'cheater' and 'wild party girl' who's 'not good enough'," she wrote.

On the same day, Wu posted a picture on his Instagram account with the words: "What if we all love each other" and caption "Seriously".

Ever since then, they have rarely been seen on each other's Instagram feeds. 

Early this year, Cheo shared a post on her Facebook account by Paul Coelho, the writer of The Alchemist, which had the line: "Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life."

This led to speculation online that her marriage with Wu was still on the rocks.

Then, Wu's manager denied that Wu and Cheo were getting a divorce.
