Asian celebrity wedding of the year: Third time's the charm for Christy Chung?

From Christy Chung to Linda Chung, these Asian female celebrities who tied the knot this year might all be stars in their own right, but we love how they all chose to have weddings in their own special ways - be it a more low-key event or a huge wedding bash with the works.

Taiwanese actress Shu Qi finally said 'I do' to Hong Kong actor Stephen Fung in early September, after dating on and off for 20 years. The wedding was a private and simple affair, with Fung quashing any rumours that Shu Qi was pregnant.

Chinese model-actress Lynn Hung also quietly got married to her Hong Kong businessman beau Ken Kwok in October, announcing her marriage with a simple Weibo message. However, her wedding photos were far from simple. For the photo shoot, the couple travelled to Macau's luxury resort Studio City with a famed photographer helming the lens.

Popular TVB actress Linda Chung held her wedding ceremony at the start of the year in Vancouver, Canada, just a few days after a shock announcement she married 41-year-old Canadian-Chinese chiropractor Jeremy Leung in Dec 2015. After months of rampant speculation that she was pregnant, Chung eventually revealed on Mother's Day this year that she was indeed expecting a baby. In August, she gave birth to her first child in Vancouver.

Taiwanese television stars Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo got married in Bali back in July after dating for six months. The wedding at the Bulgari Resort Bali was a reunion of sorts for cast of the 1990s hit drama My Fair Princess that included Zhao Wei, Lin and Fan Bingbing. Lin and her husband are also expecting their first child due early next year.

They say that third time's the charm, so our pick for wedding of the year is Canadian actress Christy Chung's marine-themed wedding affair. The twice-divorced Chung wore a bridal gown for the first time when she married Golden Zhang Lunshuo in November. The 46-year-old even joked: "In the next life, can you marry me sooner?" We're sure fans of the actress wish for nothing but everlasting love and happiness for her family from this year on!
