Behind the scenes at Gucci's artisan corner

Shoppers get to go "behind the scenes" at Gucci's temporary artisan corner.

Held from Wednesday to Feb 23 at the Italian label's flagship store at 01-38 Paragon, the corner will showcase craftsmen from the luxury brand's Florentine leather goods factory assembling bags such as the New Bamboo, Bamboo Shopper, Hip Bamboo, Soho and New Jackie. They will be available in ostrich, python, lizard and crocodile skins as well as leather materials and can be personalised with hand-embossed monogramming. Prices start at $2,080 for a plain leather Soho tote.

One of the artisans will also be demonstrating the different stages of bamboo processing. Gucci is famous for using bamboo in the handles of many of its bags.
