Elva Hsiao moves on from break-up with Kai Ko

Taipei - Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao, whose split with fellow singer Kai Ko has been fodder for the local press, has been linked to the Singapore brother-in-law of her pop star friend Van Ness Wu.

Mr Elroy Cheo, the younger brother of Wu's Singapore wife Arissa, was said to have flown to her side after the split and followed her on her trips to South Korea and, this week, to Shanghai.

Apple Daily Taiwan published a photo of them enjoying themselves in South Korea with friends including Wu and Arissa, who comes from a wealthy family in Singapore.

It went on Instagram following news last month of Hsiao's split with Ko after a two-year romance.

On Thursday, the press caught the couple returning to Taiwan from Shanghai on the same flight, with Mr Cheo emerging from immigration control an hour after the singer, Apple reported yesterday.

Hsiao, 34, did not confirm or deny she was in a new romance but responded when asked about recent criticism of her that was attributed to Ko, 23, on Facebook.

"All that is not important anymore," she answered.

A pal of hers told Apple that she and Mr Cheo, who attended Wu's wedding in the United States last year, are merely friends. The friend claimed she and Ko had split up in March and not June.

Mr Cheo, who is said to be in his 30s, is reportedly engaged in the city development line in Hangzhou, China.
