Finding their dream jeans

Finding their dream jeans

The New Paper New Face Top 20 girls were at Levi's Lady's at 313@Somerset to choose their desired jeans.

There was some clinking of hangers and rustling of fabric, and each girl emerged from the dressing rooms with their perfect fit.

Miss Chanel Lyn, 24, said: "Jeans are supposed to be classic, so I chose a classic denim blue."

The Murdoch University student added: "I think denim never goes out of style. If you choose the right cut, you can still wear it 10 years down the road.

"And Levi's lasts a long time because of its quality."

Apart from different cuts such as skinny, straight and bootleg, Levi's women's jeans come in three Curve ID fits to suit different proportions.

The "Bold Curve" fit provides room in the seat and thighs to achieve the most flattering fit, while the "Demi Curve" fit frames moderate proportions by flattering the waist and smoothing the overall silhouette.

And "Slight Curve" jeans celebrate straight figures by defining the waist and accentuating curves.

Miss Lyn's dark-blue Slight Curve jeans were from Levi's Revel range.

Revel jeans use exclusive Liquid Shaping Technology that controls the fabric's stretch in strategic areas for a figure-hugging fit that lifts and defines the body.

Indeed, last year, 2006 New Face finalist Poojaa Gill was featured in an Asia-wide commercial for Levi's Revel jeans.

Another New Face Top 20 girl, Miss Amanda Lim, 22, chose a pair of Slight Curve skinny jeans.

She said: "The material is amazing, it fits nicely and is a very flattering colour. It's a good product.

"When I wear jeans I like to be able to move more, so I look for flexibility."

The Nanyang Technological University student added: "I had another pair of Levi's when I was quite young, but the material was different. This material is great."

In the same vein, Miss Jasmine Sim, 21, who chose a pair of black Slight Curve straight-cut jeans, said: "I like jeans to be form-fitting and slim, so this fit worked for me."

Comfort

The Singapore Management University student added: "I look for comfort, something which is not very restrictive. When I think jeans, they shouldn't be too restrictive and tight, and that's very important for me. I don't want the material to be 'suffocating', I want it to feel breathable."
