Gift guide: We're here to rescue you

Obi-Wan Kenobi said that the Force surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together.

It's also making retailers a pile of cash the size of Jabba the Hutt.

With J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently showing in cinemas here, this year's festive season comes with an added dose of Star Wars mania.

Walking through town, you just can't escape Star Wars. Everything from clothing to toys to cookies invariably bears the signature emblem, and quite possibly Darth Vader's face too.

But hey, if you can't beat them, join them. Everyone can pretty much expect a gift from the galaxy far, far away in their stocking this year.

We've rounded up the best Star Wars-related Christmas presents for both the big kids (you know who you are) and children alike.

Dudes can wear their Star Wars fandom proudly both inside and out, with a printed jacket and boxer shorts.

For the avid gamers, they're sure to get a kick out of the limited edition Star Wars Battlefront PlayStation 4 Bundle, which includes the game, a Darth Vader-inspired PlayStation 4 and DualShock 4 wireless controller and a voucher for four additional classic Star Wars games.

And for the serious lightsaber fans, gift them locally-made lightsabers from SaberMach, which come with varying degrees of special effects.

Who said Star Wars clothing was only for the guys?

For the woman in your life, keep her warm with a long-sleeved dress or celebrate her curves with a bodysuit that is subtly printed with starships.

Or get her a unisex backpack that you can conveniently borrow.

And since everyone needs stationery, get her some that are emblazoned with beloved characters from the franchise in a cool retro style.

They may be small, but your little Padawans are never too young to learn the ways of the Force.

A Star Wars graphic T-shirt and pair of Crocs help signal the Force is strong with them.

There are also a variety of exclusive figurines to choose from at unofficial Star Wars haven Toys 'R' Us.

But when in doubt, a Darth Vader biscuit tin (and its sugary contents) are guaranteed to light up their faces.
