Her World takes over Orchard Road with fashion walk
SINGAPORE - More than 1,000 participants took to Orchard Road on Saturday afternoon (Oct 24) in the Her World Fashion Walk 2015. They included Her World readers and staff, fashion influencers and bloggers like Min Poh and Nicole Wong, and the finalists and winners of The New Paper New Face 2015 contest.
The Fashion Walk participants were flagged off at 4pm from Dhoby Ghaut Green, making their way to the end party at Ion Orchard.
Along the way, there were fun pitstops, including free sampling of F&N Fruit Tree Fresh Cactus Mixed Juice at Orchard Central. Hunky male models were also on hand at the stretch from Ngee Ann City to Wisma Atria to help participants try the Za True White Ex Perfect Protector and Tsubaki Damage Care Hair Water. The participants then collected cards to redeem free product samples at these brands' booths at the end party.
Outside Mandarin Gallery, participants watched a fashion show with models wearing New Look clothing and Za makeup, with percussion band Baracuda Batucada providing the background beats. A K-pop dance crew kept the crowd entertained on the stretch from Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City.
Participants who reached the end party at Ion Orchard were treated to spinning sessions by Mr Has from W Singapore from 4.30pm to 6.30pm while celebrity host Utt kept up the party momentum from 4pm to 8pm.
"It's my first time attending a Her World event and I really enjoyed myself! Even though it was so hot and humid, I had fun doing the walk with my best friend," said Gwynneth Ong, 28, a Her World reader.
Low Mei Wei, 25, HR executive, said: "My favourite pitstop was the Street Fashion Runway. It was so cool and the models all looked amazing!"
There were more goodies - free Ice Mountain sparkling water and COCO coconut water, as well as the chance to view the latest Mazda MX-5 model and try the Acuvue Define EDS machine. Participants also got exclusive mocktails at just $8 each from the Salt Grill & Sky Bar, and received a free Fashion Walk tote bag, a designer pouch and a copy of Her World October issue.
