Actress Julia Roberts has taken on a surprising role as Givenchy's latest campaign model.
As America's sweetheart and a regular face for beauty brands, news of her pairing with the edgy and cool French fashion label took the fashion world by surprise because of the brand's unusual portrayal of Roberts.
Her trademark smile is nowhere to be seen in this campaign and the 47-year-old sports a more boyish look with minimal hairstyling and make-up.
"I decided to make her more intellectual, more serious, more pure," said Mr Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy, in an interview with Women's Wear Daily.
"It's a different, fresh, new way to see Julia - really cool and urban, I think."
