Local actress shares shocking moment she caught son watching porn

What do you do when you catch your son watching porn? Rubbers actress Catherine Sng recalls that awkward moment when she walked in on her son while he was watching porn.
She also shares her own brand of sex education with the rest of the cast.
The actress revealed at a press conference for the upcoming local movie that she first had the talk about the birds and the bees when her son was 14 years old and in Secondary 2.
The lesson came about because she had accidentally walked in on him watching porn on his computer.
She said: "One day I walked into his room...previously I don't use the computer so he uses his computer in his room, so one day I walked into the room and (makes dramatic motion).. Oh no!"
"I was very worried. At the time you don't expect this, you think your son is so pure, he's just a little boy, so young, how can he be exposed to this."
"Now he is 30 years old, but that time I said: 'Son, you are young, you don't have a girlfriend. You can't have any enjoyment like what you see inside (the film), and anyway what you see there is not really true, no normal person will perform like that."

Sng goes on to say that she advised her son not to watch porn anymore, and told him that when he has a girlfriend, a condom would be something he would have to use.
She says it is important for parents to have the talk with their children when it is time: "You cannot just go away and shut it down, and it is even worse."
Other stars at the press conference were also asked how they would teach their kids about the birds and the bees.
Actress Yeo Yann Yann, who has a young daughter, deflected the question to co-star Alaric Tay, saying: "Ask someone who has a son".
The actor said it would be a 'family affair' when the time comes to talk about sex with his son, and it would be more like a 'casual conversation'.
