New Metro store at Centrepoint

SINGAPORE - Metro will be replacing Robinsons as the anchor tenant at The Centrepoint after Robinsons' lease ends in May this year.

The new store, occupying 130,000 sq ft of retail space over six floors of the mall, will likely be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.

It will complement The Centrepoint's new tenant mix, following the mall's renewed focus on contemporary fashion and lifestyle products designed to attract tourists, expatriates and locals, said Metro and Frasers Centrepoint Malls in a joint statement yesterday.

A food and beverage concept will be incorporated within the new Metro store to offer patrons and their families "an outlet to rest and recharge".

"As we focus on creating customer-centric and family-friendly experiences, we continue to develop new ways to excite our patrons through our unique and multi-dimensional retail environment," said Mr Christopher Tang, chief executive officer of Frasers Centrepoint Commercial, a division of Frasers Centrepoint Limited.

"We are confident that this new partnership with the revitalised Metro will offer even more options to enhance our shoppers' retail experience at The Centrepoint as we work towards developing a holistic and enjoyable mall experience for all."
