Pedder on Scotts celebrates grand opening with shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood

SINGAPORE - Pedder on Scotts celebrated its grand opening last week at Scotts Square.

Special guests and VIPs such as Tabitha Nauser and Jade Seah popped champagne and grooved to tunes by Hong Kong DJ Simon Pang, as they mingled over canapes and classic arcade games like Pac-Man.

Pac-Man was also featured in the launch of shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood's arcade-themed 10-year collection. With nostalgic 80's arcade characters and action figures, each shoe was inspired by influential moments from Kirkland's youth.

Taking up the entire second floor at Scotts Square, the 20,000 sq ft store is more than four times the size of its previous incarnation. The older, 4,800 sq ft store closed in June for renovations, while a temporary store opened on the ground floor.

The grand opening also saw the unveiling of art exhibition Steidl-WERK No. 23: Masaho Anotani "DEFORMED", by Singaporean talent Theseus Chan and Japanese artist Masaho Anotani.

Chan had also worked with Kirkland on the graphics for his 10th anniversary collection, helping each iconic sculptural form project its own character.
