DISTINCTION

DEEPIKA PADUKONE, A

International Indian Film Academy Awards in Florida

Gown: Zuhair Murad

Lady in red coming through! On a woman with less class and elegance, the combination of crimson lace, chiffon and tulle could be potentially tawdry.

But trust the statuesque Bollywood siren to easily transform it into something romantic and breathtaking.

REBECCA LIM, A-

Star Awards Show 2 in Singapore

Gown: Giambattista Valli

The local actress' red-carpet look is probably the only one worth shouting about at this year's sartorially-safe showbiz shindig. The speed at which Lim is earning her style stripes certainly corresponds with the newlyminted Best Supporting Actress winner's career ascent.

Surprisingly, the elaborate dress didn't wear her - she's pulling off the electric blue floral applique bodice and structured white embossed pleated peplum mermaid skirt with unexpected finesse.

SONAM KAPOOR, A-

L'Oreal promotional event in Mumbai

Dress: Elie Saab

This has got to be the perfect modern-day princess frock. Bollywood actress Kapoor is absolutely radiant in this lovely sparkly nude number, while I'm just green with envy.

PASS

ZENDAYA COLEMAN, B+

Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles

Top and skirt: Peter Pilotto

Clutch: Vivienne Westwood

Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Watch out world, the risk-taking Disney darling is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with this year. Here's another fun yet fresh and fashion-forward example from her playbook.

The crisp white kimono-like cropped collared top, paired with sculpted aqua blue and yellow embroidered skirt, is an outstanding silhouette on her.

LEA MICHELE, B-

Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation's annual Taste For A Cure fund-raiser in Los Angeles

Gown: Naeem Khan

Clutch: Jimmy Choo

Michele not trying to act cute or sexy on a red carpet is about as rare as a watchable Glee episode these days. Unfortunately, the stumpifying length of this beautiful black and nude floral decobeaded gown and the distracting way the illusion netting doesn't match the US actress' skin tone is sabotaging the overall glam effect.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY, C+

Premiere of Begin Again at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City

Dress: Chanel

Shoes: Jimmy Choo

On the plus side, I'm digging the vintage grandma chic vibe and the mixing of elaborate textures and iridescent pastel palette.

But the proportions are a nightmare and the British actress' choice of black pumps is just baffling.

RITA ORA, D

Paper magazine's annual Beautiful People Party in New York City

Dress: DKNY

I'm hitting my threshold when it comes to tolerating the British singer's horrid get-ups, from the crazy braided buns to the black garbage bag masquerading as a leather slip dress. Time to take out this piece of trash!

ANNE HATHAWAY, D

Screening of Rio 2 in Los Angeles

Top and bag: Chanel

One of the Golden Girls called - she wants her outfit back. This black ensemble isn't just dowdy - it's an all-round downer.

The US actress seems to have lost her lightness since splitting from long-time stylist Rachel Zoe. Maybe she's still not over it.

FAIL

KATE UPTON, F

Screening of The Other Woman in New York City

Blouse and pants: Saint Laurent

Clutch: Emm Kuo

Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo

Take away the bikinis and cover up that 34D-enhanced body, and you get a frumpy cookiecutter blonde desperate to be taken (semi-)seriously.

Somebody needs to tell the Sports Illustrated model-turned actress that menswear is a no go for women with curves, unless she wants to enhance her chubbiness and pear-shaped hips.
