'Short' college girl wins Miss Hong Kong 2013

HONG KONG - Aspiring television host Grace Chan was crowned Miss Hong Kong on Sunday, the first beauty queen in the TVB contest to be voted in by viewers.

Hot favourite Chan, 22, won three other titles, including Miss Photogenic, and took more than 170,000 votes, beating the runner-up, student Sisley Choi, 22, by more than 60,000 votes, said Apple Daily.

The second runner-up, project officer Moon Lau, 23, got 60,000 votes.

A total of 534,810 votes were cast online to choose the top three contestants, a year after server failure put paid to the broadcaster's attempt to turn the Miss Hong Kong 2012 competition into a popularity contest.

Viewers' votes this year contributed to half the scores of the contestants, and judges, including TVB actors Raymond Lam and Linda Chung, decided the other half
