Heads up, guys: Yvette King is a babe who loves soccer.

The 30-year-old entertainment presenter and fashion blogger, represented by Beam Artistes, said: "I've played soccer all my life, including playing in a team of all boys."

King, a supporter of English Premier League club Chelsea, is the most appropriate host for Fox Sports Asia's Score Tonight and Singha Football Crazy.

Fashion and sport may seem to be an odd fit, but King does not think so.

"People sometimes align sport with masculinity, but I think football and fashion go hand-in-hand.

"Especially now as I get to talk sports, but I get to do it in heels."

A stylista who blogs about fashion at tanjongbazaar.com, she also hosts shows such as MediaCorp's Fashion Basics and events like the Audi Fashion Festival and Digital Fashion Week Singapore.

But don't expect King to follow fashion blindly, though.

She doesn't "subscribe to trends".

"I just like what I like and will wear what feels comfortable at the time."

For her, style trumps fashion.

"You can't buy style or good taste and I find that it's something very personal - it's like your signature.

"Fashion for me is more external, a movement that is ever changing that you tap into."

King's style icon is her Korean mother (her father is Australian).

She said: "She has a great eye. She taught me to invest in classic pieces."

But for a brief period, even her mother could not stop King from being a fashion victim.

'GHETTO' LOOK

"In my youth, I attempted to do the whole 'ghetto fabulous' look, wearing clogs, baggy Kepper jeans and a singlet.

"Awful to say the least."

Another moment was her Spice Girl phase.

"Wearing chunky sneakers is one style that will stay in the archives, I think."

Still, she is keenly aware of prevailing trends.

"For Spring/Summer 2014, I'm all about 'All White Everything' or 'Nude is the New Black'.

"We are also seeing a lot of midriffs paired with pencil skirts, which is a look that I think is very flattering on the female body. It accentuates the hips and waist with a hint of skin."

GLAMOUR KING

"Nothing signifies all-out glamour than a slinky red dress with a split! This gown can't be dressed down and is for the most special of occasions."

King paired this BCBG Max Azria dress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

She said the dress is very unforgiving.

"I have to put down the pizza for this one."

SPORTY KING

King was in head-to-toe Asics.

She has always worn Asics shoes.

"My dad introduced it (the brand) to me years ago," she said.

She was reintroduced to the brand again recently.

"I ran a 10km race last month in Hong Kong, supported by Asics.

"I'm loving the gear as well now for its design and comfort, having worn it so much for training."

VERY KING

When asked to wear an outfit that describes her style, King went hi-low again.

"I like to mix vintage, designer and high street goods. I bought the crop knit from the markets in Sydney for $5 and paired it up with a Love Bonito skirt.

"I'm also obsessed with leopard print as seen in the Celine bag and River Island pumps.

"The Celine oversized shades are a no-brainer here. I guess my taste is a big fat oxymoron - casual dressy."

SEXY KING

King was proud to announce that her dress came from River Island.

She mixes high- and low-end stuff (her shoes are from Giuseppe Zanotti).

"The little black body con dress with a hint of skin (peekaboo waist cut out) and some sparkle makes me feel completely sexy, without giving away too much."

It helps with illusions too.

"With the embellished bust, it gives the illusion of a small waist and the rest of the dress hugs the hips.

"The just-below-the-knee hemline is the new mini-skirt in recent seasons. It's no longer reserved for librarians."
