Stunning Korean actresses over 35 and ruling the silver screens

Hollywood may be obsessed with youth, with many of the leading female stars in their early twenties - but over in South Korea, mature actresses are commanding top ratings and stealing hearts everywhere.

Action, comedy and romance - 35-year-old Ha Ji Won has done it all, according to Drama Fever. She played lead roles in period drama Hwang Jini, romantic comedy Secret Garden, and historical drama, Empress Ki.

In January 2016's issue of Elle Korea, the actress was selected by Giorgio Armani to promote their new product. The starlet showed off her youthful dewy skin in a dreamy pastel Grecian gown.

Another actress that can't help making women envious is probably 40-year-old Choi Ji Woo, best remembered for her leading role in the romantic drama, Winter Sonata, released in 2002.

Since then, the actress from Busan has worked on many shows and won a slew of awards such as the Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards and the popularity award at the MBC Drama Awards. She will be seen in TV drama, Twenty Again, and movie, Happy Facebook.

The second oldest on this list by Drama Fever, Kim Hee Ae, 48, can easily pass off as someone half her age.

Her skin - flawless. Her figure - to die for. Born in Jeju City, Kim started off as a model in 1978 before going into show business, according to reports online.

The roles she plays in dramas are no easy characters either. Around the start of her acting career, she portrayed a mother who gets diagnosed with a terminal illness in Perfect Love and won the SBS Drama Awards and Baeksang Arts Awards for her heart-breaking performance.

In 2014 alone, she won seven awards included being named a fashion icon at the 7th Style Icon Awards.
