Swedish fashion brand Cos has collaborated with New York's Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum to sponsor the museum's exhibition of the late American abstract painter and sculptor Agnes Martin.
In celebration of the sponsorship, Cos has created a 12-piece capsule collection for men and women inspired by Martin's artwork.
The artist is known for her painted grids and lines in delicate pastel colours on large square canvases, which have served as an inspiration to the Cos design team for many years.
Ms Karin Gustafsson, creative director of Cos, says: "The incredible richness and tactility of Martin's work has always inspired our fabrics and designs. Her use of subtle colour and dedication to her technique and style elevate apparently simple lines and grids to something extraordinary."
Prices for the Cos X Agnes Martin-Guggenheim Collection 2016 - which launched last Friday at the Guggenheim Museum and in select territories worldwide such as Singapore - range from $125 for a T-shirt to $390 for a coat. A percentage of the sales will be donated to the Agnes Martin Foundation.
Cos has three boutiques here, including one at: 03-23/23A Ion Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, open daily from 10.30am to 9.30pm, tel: 6238-8933.
