Tokyo Fashion Week has begun, with the 2017-18 autumn-winter collections being shown at the Shibuya Hikarie commercial complex in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, and other venues through Saturday.

Designer Yukimi Kawashima of fashion label Aula was among those showing their new lines in Shibuya on the event's first day Monday.

Kawashima's collection, as seen in the photo, made use of elements such as leather straps, knitted fabric and other features to portray a sleek and powerful feminine look.

Tokyo Fashion Week is officially titled Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo and organised by the Japan Fashion Week Organisation.

During the week, 52 labels are presenting their new collections at various venues.
