Utilitarian chic: Alexander Wang and H&M

The much anticipated Alexander Wang and H&M sportswear-inspired collaboration collection will be launched on Nov 6.

Not only does the collection look sporty, several pieces are also meant for working out in.

The collection of 38 garments for women and 23 for men includes quick-dry running tops, sports bras, compression crop tops and a water-resistant windbreaker.

Then there are the accessories - jacquard beanies, leather backpacks and scuba gloves stamped with a reflective logo - that will surely excite those who love the tough look.

Beyond apparel and accessories, look out for yoga mats, water bottles, boxing gloves, towels and other sports equipment.

The collection is nothing less than expected of the Taiwanese-American designer, whose name has become synonymous with tough and sexy cool.

The collection will be launched at 8am at the Orchard Building and Ion Orchard stores.

Prices range from $14.90 for a key ring to $599 for a men's reflective down jacket.

The first 10 customers in line will receive a limited-edition Alexander Wang x H&M backpack and stool, which should come in handy for pulling an all-nighter.
