A six-month pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage after her unemployed husband kicked her at their house in Kajang, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
The 30-year-old beautician, who also suffered a broken nose, claimed that her husband flew into a rage when she refused to lend him her car.
During the incident at midnight on Thursday, the husband had earlier scolded the woman for coming home late.
Whipping out a knife, he then threatened her into giving him RM400 (S$147).
However, when she refused to let him borrow her car, he became angry and beat her up. He also kicked her in the stomach and damaged her car before fleeing.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said the woman was told that she had a miscarriage during a medical check-up at a hospital.
