Autistic boy, 6, gets best birthday after mum's online rant

A distraught mother decided to take to Facebook and post a rant about her autistic son's classmates not attending his birthday party.

According to Mashable, the boy's mother, Ashlee Buratti vented in a Facebook group called Osceola Rants, Raves and Reviews List, which has more than 10,000 members.

The site added that the boy, Glenn, had invited all 16 of his classmates to attend the party but no one showed up.

Buratti wrote: "He keeps asking 'when will my friends get here?'"

The post began to pick up traction, and before long, cars started showing up to celebrate Glenn's birthday - and they came bearing gifts.

The Facebook post also caught the eye of the Osceola County Sheriff's Department and Osceola County Fire Department.

They arrived at the birthday party with police dogs and a fire truck. The lucky 6-year-old also had a police helicopter fly over the house.

Touched by the kind act, Buratti told local TV station WKMG: "It just warmed my heart."

However, she added that she did not know how she would be able to top it next year.
