Doing yoga in unusual places in the world

Yoga, a spiritual and ascetic discipline that has its roots in Hinduism, is practised almost everywhere by both the young and old.

According to a study done by American yoga site Yoga Journal in 2012, it is estimated that around 20.4 million people have taken up yoga in USA alone, and the number is set to increase.

The benefits of doing yoga include greater flexibility and strength and an improved posture.

It is also interesting to note that yoga is increasingly beginning to be practised anywhere.

Thomson Reuters has compiled a series of photographs depicting people practising yoga in unusual places in the world.
