Photographs show life of patients before entering insane asylum

Most of us who watch horror movies would know that abandoned asylums are places we should never set foot into.

Some, however, are brave enough to not heed this warning.

A worker came across 400 suitcases at the abandoned Willard Asylum for the Insane in upstate New York.

These suitcases are between 60 to 100 years old.

The average time that a patient stays at this asylum was 30 years, and after they passed away, their belongings would be locked away in the attic.

Photographer Jon Crispin, however, has documented the astonishing finds in the suitcases on Diply.

Take a look at the gallery to see what the suitcases contain.
