A couple in California were walking their dog when they stumbled upon US$10 million (S$12.6 million) worth of gold coins.
The treasure trove of 1,427 rare coins (above) was buried in the shadow of an old tree on their property.
Most date between 1847 and 1894 and were never circulated. Some are so rare that experts estimated they could fetch US$1 million apiece.
The couple want to stay anonymous to avoid a "gold rush" on their property.
