Australian police said that several schools across Sydney have been evacuated on Friday morning, following bomb threats that were made between 10.50am and 11.10am.
Seven News reported that schools in Mona Vale on Sydney's northern beaches, Woolooware in Sydney's south, and at Richmond and Penrith in Sydney's west had received the threats.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, police operations took place simultaneously at the various schools.
As a precautionary measure, paramedics were deployed to numerous schools, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.
A NSW police spokesman added: "Police are warning that making such threats is a serious criminal offence and every effort will be made to identify the person or persons responsible."
Investigations are on-going.
