A North Carolina man is facing multiple heroin trafficking charges after being caught with an alleged 40 packets of the drug crammed into his belly button.
Randall Streeter - who weighs 143kg and is 1.65m-tall - was arrested during an operation late last month when police pulled over the car he was driving.
Greenville agents seized 150 bags of heroin and US$1,200 (S$1,500) in addition to the drugs found on Streeter. The arrests were the culmination of a month-long investigation, Daily Mail reported.
The total estimated street value of the narcotics busted was about US$6,800.
Police said that Streeter, 36, is allegedly behind many other cases of heroin dealing in Greenville and is also linked to several prostitution cases. He is currently detained under a US$1 million bond.
Online comments are rife online about how Streeter managed to pull off hiding drugs inside his belly button.
In the comments sections of a CBS news report on the case, a reader wrote: "I weigh 136kg and I can't hide a dime in my belly button. That's gotta be a hell of an innie (navel)."
Streeter's case came not long after it was revealed that a man was nabbed in Cuba last month after attempting to board a flight to the US with 66 rare birds sewn inside his trousers.
The man was arrested at Ignacio Agramonte International Airport in a Cuban city and was brought aside because of the strange bulges in his trousers, Daily Mail reported.
After being questioned by authorities, the man claimed he was only concealing a pigeon as a present for his grandson.
In a similar case in September 2013, a 43-year-old US woman was found to have hidden US$5,000 of stolen cash inside her rectum, New York Daily News reported.
In that case, the hidden stash was stuck and the woman had to use a toilet brush and tongs to try to remove it.
