A female soldier confronted scores of ultra-Orthodox Jewish protesters in Jerusalem on Monday, using a series of high kicks in an attempt to disperse the crowd and unblock the road for traffic.
The ultra-Orthodox Jews were protesting the arrest of two men who were sentenced to two weeks in a military jail for refusing military service.
Military service in Israel is compulsory for all men and women of 18 years-of-age, but ultra-Orthodox students are exempt from the draft if they present a letter from their school.
Earlier in September, Israel's Supreme Court ruled that exemptions for ultra-Orthodox Jews were unconstitutional.
