WATCH: Trudeau and Obama hug it out after candlelight dinner in Montreal

Is the world's favourite bromance back on?

Former US President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared an intimate dinner on Tuesday (June 6) evening at a Montreal restaurant.

The former US president was in town for a speaking engagement. But he made sure he didn't leave town without having a meal together with Trudeau, whom he shared close ties with during his administration.

Trubama ate at a swanky Liverpool House restaurant, owned by celebrity chef David McMillan, and shared conversations over a candlelight dinner.

According to McMillan, the two world leaders spoke alone for about 30 minutes.

What did they talk about?

Perhaps, it was something heartfelt.

Judging from Trudeau's tweet, the conversation topic could have been on youth leadership.

But it was something "lighthearted and funny", McMillan told CBS News

Before parting ways, Trudeau and Obama hugged it out and waved to crowds of onlookers who had gathered.

Rumours that Trubama was over spread when photos of Trudeau and newly-elected French President Emmanuel Macron at the G-7 summit of world leaders suggested there could be a new leading man in Trudeau's life.
