A woman has revealed how she has cut her food bill to just £5 a week by only eating food that is destined for the bin.
Determined to save money to go travelling and to cut the amount of food she was wasting, a month ago Josephine Liang, 25, stopped her big weekly shop in favour of using apps to find food that restaurants or people nearby are going to throw away.
She said: "I travel up to 5km to pick things up. I want to reduce food waste but if I am travelling right across London, it doesn't make sense. There is a point where the impact of the travel outweighs the environmental impact of the food being thrown out."
