PENANG: Four inmates of a boy's reform school in Paya Terubong were arrested for allegedly sodomising a 13-year-old inmate.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Azam Abd Hamid said the inmates, aged 16 and 17, took turns sodomising the boy in a room at about 8.30pm on Sunday.

"The boy was held down and had his mouth stuffed with a towel to prevent him from screaming.

"The victim only told the warden about the matter on Monday as he feared there could be a repeat of the incident," he said Tuesday.

ACP Azam said the inmates were picked up on the same night and have since been remanded for a week by a magistrate's court pending questioning.

"A check showed that one of the suspects had a record for rape, criminal trespass and drugs while the others were at the reform school for minor offences.

"The case has been classified as committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent under Section 377C of the Penal Code," he added.

It is learnt that the victim had been warned not to tell anyone about the incident. He was admitted to the Penang Hospital in pain as his anal sphincter had ruptured and was bleeding.
