PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has accepted the defeat of the Barisan Nasional in several areas.

He said that this is how democracy works, and urged people to remain calm and not to celebrate in the streets.
