PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA: Pahang PAS Youth wants those who organised the anti-fuel price hike rally (Protes) to be barred from sitting on organising committees of future rallies over the showing of boxer shorts incident by the singer of a rock band.

Suhaimi Md Saad said PAS was upset with the organisers who portrayed such negative antics.

During the rally on Sunday, the lead singer of rock band Carburettor Dung was halfway through a song when he dropped his pants and showed his boxer shorts.

Meanwhile, a post-mortem will be conducted on the trouser-dropping incident, its organisers said.

PAS treasurer Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli, who was the rally's organising chairman, however, declined to comment on the issue.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim hoped the matter would be closed as soon as possible.

"The manager of the singer apologised to the organising committee on Sunday night," he said.

Dr Mohd Hatta said he considered the rally a success.

"It was the first time we held a protest in a stadium. It was different from a street protest - it was sedentary, with people even being able to bring their family to the stadium for a picnic," he added.

He claimed the roadblocks set up by the police was one factor why the rally did not manage to draw one million people.

"We hope we have sent a strong message to the Government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and hope to get a response from them in the next few days," he added.
