KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police have dismissed reports that Moro Islamic Liberation Force (MILF) fighters are seeking shelter in the state.

State Police Commissioner Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said such reports about the Philippine-based group were untrue.

"Based on our present operations along the border area, there have been no unusual activities," he said after the distribution of Hari Raya cakes for police personnel serving at forward bases around the state.

He said police were monitoring international boundaries and also smaller isolated islands between Sabah and the restive southern Philippines.
